Dr. Jenda is the Assistant Provost for Special Projects and Initiatives s at Auburn University. He was a faculty member at University of Malawi, University of Botswana, and University of Kentucky before coming to Auburn University. Dr. Jenda served as an Associate Dean and also as a Director in the College of Sciences and Mathematics before becoming an associate provost. In his current capacity, he serves as the Chief Diversity Officer at Auburn University.

Reporting directly to the Provost, Dr. Jenda oversees the implementation of the Auburn University Strategic Diversity Plan which calls for the implementation of a comprehensive range of exemplary educational programs that foster and sustain an environment that promotes academic excellence, respects differences, accepts inclusiveness, and provides students with a superior education in service to the needs of Alabama, the nation, and the world.

Dr. Jenda serves as the principal investigator of several programs including the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation, Bridge to the Doctorate, Alliance for Graduate Education and the Professoriate, and the NSF Graduate Teaching Fellows in K-12 Education Program.

Dr. Jenda is also a faculty member holding the rank of full professor of mathematics in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Auburn University. His area of research is algebra and has published three graduate and research level books and over sixty research articles in this area. Dr. Jenda has a BS with Distinction from Chancellor College, University of Malawi, and MA, PhD from University of Kentucky.
